Balance is not always the standard form of art. In contrast there are artists that define their work without the existence of balance and the resulting work is amazing. Whether you’re talking about art, graphic design, creativity or, merely, life – balance helps to maintain order in most instances.
However, sometimes life throws curveballs that have us striking out. There are choices to be made when we’re facing particularly difficult situations. Those choices can motivate us or they can destroy our spirit.
How do we find balance during these times without losing control? How do we stay motivated to continue on our path? There are countless self-help books, coaches, television programs, podcasts, motivational speakers, doctors and parents exploring the subject of balance.
The world is full of experts who claim they have the answer to staying balanced. Sometimes imbalance happens as a result of forces beyond our control. Generalized data suggests that half of all Americans are currently experiencing imbalance in all areas of life. Whether it is in relation to financial, physical, or mental health.
We’re not talking about the physical act of balancing here, we’re talking about mental balance. Here are some of my favorites solutions to finding balance:
Going for a walk in the fresh air
Reading about balance
Napping
Going for a drive
Travel somewhere
Being where people are
Watching funny videos
Shopping
Gardening
Finishing projects
Talking to a friend
What are your favorite go-to activities that help you stay balanced?
There are a myriad of damaging choices that can be made. Contrastingly, there are just as many choices that motivate us. What works for one individual may not work for another. Now I’m not claiming to be an expert. However, I am constantly on a quest for balance. Symmetry seems to be the thing that is immensely comforting in an atmosphere of endless change.
Ultimately, continuing to try what works best for you is a good answer. The key word here is continue. Keep at it. You’ll know it when you see it.
